Choosemycare.com and Sally Gunnell present care award
Portsmouth businessman Rob Osborne teamed up with Olympic Champion Sally Gunnell to present an award at a ceremony in Brighton.
Rob runs internet-based social care and support search facility Choosemycare.com with his wife Lynn, and the company, a Briscoe PR client, sponsored the care innovator award at the Great South East Care Awards at the Brighton Metropole Hotel.
Rob was on stage with Sally to present the award to the young people’s team from The Avenue in Kent.
“We were delighted to be associated with the Great South East Care Awards,” said Rob, who runs Choosemycare.com from offices at 1000 Lakeside in North Harbour.
“It was a fantastic ceremony recognising the efforts of people throughout the south east in the care sector and some of the fantastic work that they do.”
Choosemycare.com was launched last month (November) with hundreds of care providers right across the south already enrolled as members.
The site provides a free search facility for people looking for care and helps them find the right provider in their area offering the right services. It is also providing the information that is increasingly being required of local authorities across the country.
Rob and Lynn, who have a combined 25 years experience in the care and support service sectors, started the company when they heard some of the difficulties people were having getting responses from care and support service providers, and recognised the local authorities might struggle to fulfill the requirements of Prime Minister David Cameron’s Big Society social care agenda.
